Elizabeth was born in Northern Ohio and got her taste for travel, history, architecture and food at a young age, taking trips with her family of seven across the state and venturing north into Canada for camping and outdoor fun for the first 15 years of her life. A graduate of Kent State University in interior design her grown up jobs have included residential and commercial design, team management, product development and purchasing for Sherwin Williams, Sunrise Senior Living and Jupitermedia.
Travel continued as she left Ohio for Virginia, Germany and then back to Virginia with her high school sweetheart and fellow wine and food lover husband Scott, then in the US Navy. After settling into a government job they found themselves in the middle of Virgina’s wine country.
The new wineries and foodie adventures abound and the couple tries to visit new places as often as possible along with enjoying the wonderful back country roads in their little roadster. Finding Barrel Oak Winery was like finding a new home. After becoming a barrel owner, volunteering in the tasting room and getting to know Brian and Sharon, corporate downsizing left Elizabeth free to accept an offer from Brian to come and work at BOW.
Four years have flown by and Elizabeth is now the Barrel Oak’s Operation and Clubs manager. Making sure the tasting room is moving forward smoothly she manages the clubs, purchasing for the multiple properties as well as helping with new projects. Still in love with a challenge, her nickname ‘Tenacious E’ bestowed by Rick continues to serve her well. Don’t be surprised to find her with Scott sharing news about the latest recipe they have tried and paired with a lovely new wine they have found.
