Here at BOW, we sometimes like to write about what we're up to. This Blog page is our chance to report from the front line of wine making and we hope you like our silly little thoughts!

Haiti

An unimaginable week in Haiti. Another lovely weekend at BOW. Strange how incompatible the two seem.

But they are not incompatible this long Martin Luther King weekend. Three dollars from every bottle sold will go to the Red Cross. $3 from every bowl of chili. $3 for every bowl of spaghetti and $3 for every s'mores we sell tonight. I'll go on line Monday night and make the donation.
On a decent winter weekend we'll sell 400-500 bottles of wine...maybe more. Maybe 100 bowls of chili; 50 more s'mores and spaghetti. With your help and a little extra lovin' from Peanut we might crack two grand. The gift will be made on behalf of our dear Haitian friend Netlyn Bernard whose father emerged after 12 hours in the rubble of her house and whose mother and three nieces are still missing. Netlyn is one of our heroes. She is in Africa where she oversees that continent's giving and receiving for the Friends. None of us can move a stone to help her family but we can give.

We'll also have donation jars.

Fire pits, great people, wonderful wine, dogs, Peanut, tours, winemaking, music, snacks, and charity. Just another great weekend at BOW!

-gotta go now, Peanut wants to go down to the winery.
