Here at BOW, we sometimes like to write about what we're up to. This Blog page is our chance to report from the front line of wine making and we hope you like our silly little thoughts!
So today is 9-11. Patriot Day. A day of loss and memories and resilience. We were living in Arlington as the plane flew 100 feet above our house on the way in. We were lucky to not have lost loved ones, but we have friends who did. They are in our hearts along with all those who perished that grim day. You are also in our hearts because we all suffered. Eight years on it is still fresh and immediate...
I am sorry that today's email is going out a little late. I've been driving all over the state collecting fruit all week and this morning I have been catching up on all of the week's emails. Additionally, Sharon and I have a small apartment building in WDC which we are selling and that has also taken quite a bit of time this week but as of yesterday we are now in escrow! The truth is that while the building has been a good business -and was instrumental in helping us to get to this point, we are just over it and so in love with our lives here in the county. I rarely get back in to collect the rents and the writing on the wall is clear. While we have good managers, I really need to be a bit more engaged to really have the building do well. And we have so moved on.
The way that Sharon and I feel about bringing BOW together is kinda like this video that you may not have seen on youtube or facebook: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-q-fsYQPZw. Enjoy!
So last weekend was amazing. Thank you to all who were a part of it! So many new and returning guests expressed their true pleasure at all that we strive to accomplish at BOW. It was a really huge weekend for us and a huge effort on the part of all of our staff who really looked out for each other and went the distance! Thank you, each of you, for caring about each other and our customers and thereby making BOW such a special place!
