Here at BOW, we sometimes like to write about what we're up to. This Blog page is our chance to report from the front line of wine making and we hope you like our silly little thoughts!

In the BOW world, Friday is Monday and Thursday is Friday. I thought I'd write a poem about our weeks at BOW.

How I love Fridays! (ode to the week)

Let me mark the days as Friday begins with the story of our lives.
The day unfolds as I connect with my tribe. The web's a hive and I dive right in -
with an abandon to share our dream...

'Round six I make my commute to the house of joy
our winery where dreams are made.
The lovely Sharon joins me there to carouse with joy with friends and wine...
We dance and laugh and eat and revel in the amazing surprise
that is our lives, Sharon and I
and you.

We share stories with our patio friends as behind the sun sets...then late back home for the brief rest.

Saturday at ten as the staff assemble, ready and eager
and full of expectation for the day's visitors,
I do my part as Sharon rides her bike or plays with the dogs or the wine filters
together in spirit as we organize and play and anticipate a great to do day!

Then like a rolling wave it all begins. We body surf along its wavelength.
Working all as a great engaged team, marveling at the strength of how
we can give joy to all who visit this place and experience BOW.
The water is cool, come on in we cry! BOW is joy and family and fun!

and woof!

In the evening we again share the ends of that day with others.

Sunday is a quieter with work and stories and staff and guests mixing
together like the rainbow's colors and hues. A vast human tide of
experience and questions and tastes and exploration of
the joy of living the dream of wine and community.

I mostly try to be useful to all. Sharon shows many her showroom
of creation, accomplishment, and learning...always learning more!
Later that night, Sharon and I are home and immobile, trying to sort through
the exhaustion and the joy and the gratitude of the amazing three day ride!

How does she manage to do a load of wash when I...cannot...even...move...?

Monday is different day's labor followed by other days of each week.
My time for work alone in office and meetings outside each day,
and planning, and paying bills, and anticipation of needs.

Sharon patiently makes the wine and keeps our house a home and feeds the dogs and visits the gym and rides her bike and manages the vineyards and keeps her friendships and checks her email, and feeds her facebook, and laughs magically, and shops and reads and works and works and works...

all so that Friday can again become our Monday.
